Access to All Events
Members get access to our full calendar of events — social nights, discussion groups, speaker talks, volunteer days, and seasonal gatherings. Some events include member-only early registration.

Never miss a gathering. We send event reminders via email newsletter and optional SMS text message — especially helpful for members with visual impairments or limited internet access.
Voting Rights
Lincoln Atheists is member-governed. All members in good standing have full voting rights at our annual meeting to elect board officers and vote on organizational decisions.

Applications are reviewed within 2–3 business days. You’ll receive a welcome email with payment instructions once your application is processed.

Membership FAQ
Do I have to be an atheist to join?
Not at all. Lincoln Atheists welcomes atheists, agnostics, humanists, skeptics, and anyone who values reason, secular community, and open discussion. If you’re curious, questioning, or simply looking for community outside of religion, you belong here.
Can I attend events before becoming a member?
Yes! Most of our events are open to non-members and curious guests. We encourage you to come to a social meetup or community event before deciding to join. You’re always welcome.
How are my dues used?
Dues cover event venue rentals, supplies, website and newsletter costs, accessibility resources, and general nonprofit operating expenses. Lincoln Atheists is an all-volunteer organization — no staff salaries are paid. Financial summaries are available to members via the member portal.
What if I can't afford dues?
Please reach out to us at membership@lincolnatheists.org. We never want financial hardship to prevent someone from being part of the community. We also offer the Student / Low Income tier at $10/year with no questions asked.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Memberships are non-refundable but if you join and find Lincoln Atheists isn’t the right fit, please let us know — we value your feedback and want to make the community better.
Is my information kept private?
Absolutely. We never sell, share, or disclose member information to any third party. Your data is used only for membership administration, event communications, and organizational purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
